Airports of Uzbekistan to be transferred to management on a competitive basis
The airports of Uzbekistan will be transferred to the management of foreign companies on a tender basis. This was announced by the Minister of Transport of the Republic Eleur Ganiev at a press conference on February 12. Representatives of the media asked the Minister about the transfer of several airports of the republic to the management of the Russian company Novaport. Ganiev noted that at present there is no agreement with this company. So now to say, Japanese companies or Russian companies will manage early. The tender will show, Ganiev said. Recall, in May 2019 Novaport Holding and the Government of Uzbekistan signed an investment agreement on the reconstruction of three airports: Samarkand, Namangan and Urgench.
