The State Security Service of Georgia called provocation the launch of signal missiles in South Ossetia
The State Security Service (SSC) of Georgia issued a report on illegal actions in the territory of South Ossetia. The publication was posted on the website of the agency on February 15. According to the SBS, on the evening of 14 February, several signal missiles were launched in the area of the village of Orchosan. Shots were noticed by a police patrol in Georgian territory near the village. Such illegal actions are provocative and are detrimental to the security situation on the ground. In connection with the incident, the State Security Service of Georgia activated the hotline and informed the EU Observer Mission, the message of the SBS reads. It is worth noting that Orchosan is the southernmost settlement of South Ossetia, which is about three km from the Georgian-South Ossetian border. According to the news agency, after the Georgian army attacked Tskhinval in August 2008, Moscow recognized the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. In Georgia, these territories are described as occupied and regularly seek to demonstrate that they are monitoring the situation there.
