Coronavirus threat: Georgia to open entry to two largest cities

Restrictions imposed in two of Georgia's four largest cities will be lifted on May 5. This was announced at the government meeting by Prime Minister Georgy Gakharia, Georgian Public Television reported. From tomorrow, all types of restrictions on movement will be lifted in cities such as Batumi and Kutaisi, the head of the Georgian government said. He added that other largest cities of Tbilisi and Rusavi will remain closed for entry and exit. Such a decision was made due to the epidemiological situation in their neighbouring areas. According to Gaharia, it is possible to lift restrictions on movement at the end of this week. Recall, the four largest cities of Georgia have been closed for entry and exit since April 15. This was due to a sharp increase in cases of coronavirus infection in the country.
