France's economy minister urges insurance companies to help businesses

France's economy minister, Bruno Le Maire, said insurance companies still had to take a step towards greater solidarity to help companies affected by the COVID-19 crisis, according to BFM TV. According to the Minister, this solidarity should manifest itself towards business leaders and, in particular, small and medium-sized enterprises. Bruno Le Maire also recalled that insurance companies have already provided 400 million euros to the solidarity fund for very small enterprises and 1.5 billion euros to finance small and medium-sized enterprises. Can insurers make an additional gesture of solidarity against French companies? My answer is yes, the minister said during a trip to the suburbs of Paris. According to the news agency, French President Emmanuel Macron extends the rights of workers working on a temporary contract until August 2021.
