Kyrgyzstan advocates creation of common gas market in EAEU
The formation of a common gas market is one of the most important priorities of cooperation between the EAEU member states in the field of energy security. This was stated by President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Zheenbekov at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council today, May 19. At the same time, he stressed that this will have a positive impact on tariffs on the transportation of natural gas to the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union. The EAEU gas market is formed not only from its own production, but also includes the supply of gas from third countries. I believe that in the development of the draft international treaty it is necessary to consider non-discriminatory approaches in the establishment of tariffs for the transportation of gas regardless of the country of origin, Zheenbekov stressed.
